Seeking Actors for New Web Series
Project:
Short, dramatic videos made for streaming and download. About 5 to 10 minutes in length. Series is basically a collection of short films with each episode focusing on a different set of recurring characters. Stories will be character-driven with limited special effects, unconventional plot lines, and a mix of conversational dialogue and voice-over narration. Dialogue will be part scripted and part improvised.
Series Summary:
A group of independent, free-spirited friends go on wild adventures and meet up with mysterious and unusual people.
Shooting Locations:
Filming locations will be in and around Salem, Oregon.
Actors:
For the pilot episode, I’m looking for two female actors in their 20s or 30s, and one male actor in his 20s or 30s. There will be a need for more actors from all age groups in future episodes.
Pay/Compensation:
The pay per episode will be a modest amount to start with, $100 for principal performers and $50 for minor roles as the project will initially be a low-budget and self-funded venture. Gas reimbursements will be available for people commuting from outside the area.
Production:
With the TV and video landscapes changing rapidly, I want to produce a project that is special, different, meaningful, and enjoyable in a safe, creative, and fun environment. Shooting schedules will be made as flexible as possible to accommodate everybody. I am looking at spring or summer to begin shooting.
Goals:
It is my aim to create good quality and engaging stories that will attract enough viewers to obtain sponsors and subscriptions in order to keep the series going and to pay actors more money. In the future, I’d like to expand the range of locations and take on more actors.
How to Get Involved:
Send resume, headshot, and acting reel to kevinmalin@gmail.com
I will consider actors of all levels of experience, whether it’s in front of the camera or on stage. There will also be a need for background work to add realism to the scenes.
